Captain Bob Hovey
I grew up a Florida boy fishing the Southeast Coast of Florida and the Keys. During my 16 year career as a Rescue Swimmer in the United States Coast Guard, I had the opportunity to move to many coastal cities and learn a new fishery and technique in each area. I have fished cobalt blue water off of every state along the East Coast and down along the Gulf. I have guided blue fin tuna trips off Cape Cod and fished sailfish tournaments down in Miami and the Keys.
Due to military demands, I found myself in Venice, Louisiana six years ago and discovered it is truly one of the top fishing destinations in the United States. Venice, LA has one of the greatest fisheries I have ever seen. My expertise and soul resides in offshore fishing. I have seen some breath taking sunrises, caught some unbelievable fish, and created memories I will never forget. Nothing makes me happier than sharing my passion with others!
Captain Alex Sewell
My love of fishing in Louisiana began as a young child with my Father. I was allowed to take his boat out before I even had my driver’s license. Soon after, I was fishing every chance I could get, exploring new waters and discovering my passion for offshore fishing in Venice.
Venice’s inshore and offshore fishery can range from bass to blue marlin. We catch some amazing fish including red fish, trout, red snapper, yellowfin tuna, swordfish and many others! The best part of this job, and what makes it enjoyable for me, is being able to share my customers’ excitement for fishing.

Growing up all over South Louisiana, I was able to fish all over our coastline. The Venice fishery fully embodies what our Sportsman's Paradise is all about. There is an opportunity here for every anglers, we are able to target a plethora of species within casting distance of each other. I put all my customer's needs first to provide a top-of-the-line experience and creating a lifelong friendship.

I was raised in the waters of South Louisiana catching anything that would bite my hook. My passion for fishing started at a young age and continues to grow. We only run with the best boats and gear with Louisiana Bluewater. In our 25' Blackjack we can get to all spots we need and more. Mainly targeting redfish, speckled trout and sheep head most days of the year; even getting the opportunity to get on some Red Snapper and Cobia during the Summer months!
